Party games are one of the most frequently played games at our board game cafe, and it completely makes sense as to why! Typically when people come to visit us, they're coming to have some fun with friends while enjoying a drink or two.
So, here are our party game recommendations for you!
Bears Vs. Babies
This extremely popular game was designed by the creators of the popular card game Exploding Kittens!
Stitch together a Handsome Salmon armed with knives and burritos or a Pomeranian of Light and Wonder in business attire who can run at the speed of light. Give your creation limbs, weapons, and special hats to help prepare them for the inevitable infant onslaught.
In this highly strategic party game, outbuild the babies and other players to win!
What Do You Meme
This is one of the new party games that everyone's talking about! Compete with friends and family to create the funniest memes.
The point of this game is for players to propose caption cards as a match to a designated photo, or meme card. The judge of the round chooses the caption that they think is the best match to photo card, and whoever played that card gets a point. The name of the game refers to internet memes and is a play on the term what do you mean? The game has been compared to Cards Against Humanity, given the similar format!
Telestrations is the visual version of the classic “telephone game” where you draw what you see, then guess what you saw to reveal hilarious outcomes!
Each player begins by sketching a TELESTRATIONS word dictated by the roll of a die. The old fashioned sand timer may limit the amount of time they get to execute their sketch, but it certainly doesn't limit creativity! Time's up! All players, all at the same time, pass their sketch to the next player, who must guess what's been drawn. Players then simultaneously pass their guess -- which hopefully matches the original word (or does it?) - to the next player who must try to draw the word they see, and so on.
In the super-fast sushi card game, Sushi Go!, you are eating at a sushi restaurant and trying to grab the best combination of sushi dishes as they whiz by. Score points for collecting the most sushi rolls or making a full set of sashimi. Dip your favourite nigiri in wasabi to triple its value! And once you've eaten it all, finish your meal with all the pudding you've got! But be careful which sushi you allow your friends to take; it might be just what they need to beat you!
All of the above games are also in our board game library, available for you to play!
This week, our theme is “Quick Board Games”. These games can be played in under 20 minutes. In our board game cafe, these types of games are often played before escape room bookings, when players have a short amount of time to play a board game but are still looking for some gaming fun!
